For
every child of God who comes to Him through the Son Jesus
Christ, there is a guaranteed future of triumph. This victory
begins when we start asking the Lord for divine help in our
everyday life. ROLES! NUMEROUS ROLES. What are they? Why are
we, the seniors in a position of strong responsibilities even
now while we are in our Golden Years Plus? Why when we are
named "The Rocking Chair generation? Because: It is at
this stage in life that our God-given experience blossoms.
That
depth for carrying God's burdens with Him in praying...becomes
evident then fruitful. There are great
testimonies in the Bible regarding our Almighty God reaching
out to younger generations. In our world God can use us, the
older generation through our emotional attitude as
grandparents. Certainly as grandmothers; and I am one of them.
2
Timothy 1:5 says, "When I call to remembrance, the
unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy
grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice." Here
Paul witnesses: One major element can be the presence of a
devout grandmother, passing down her godly teaching to Timothy
her grandson, whose outstanding faith is mentioned.
It
was stated that "THE HOME IS A LABORATORY OF CHRISTIAN
LIVING." In the home is where we
train the hearts to live as God desires, where we maintain
flowing, gladdening sentiments within each one, while there is
a feeling of awe..of holiness, of joy as though everyday is a
Sunday. On one Sunday in September
while we are honored as Grandparents, may
we dwell on the love of Christ in us, that must govern our
added attention to our precious young ones. A beautiful wooden
plaque I received in
Africa
, summarizes God's teaching everywhere. It
said "To look around is to be distressed. To look within
is to be depressed. To look up is to be
blessed"
Let
us likewise, look up with ceaseless prayers from the heart at
all times. Let us beware of these two strong words: FUTILITY
and FEAR . The two words that are the prime enemies attacking
our offspring, giving the youth their loss of self worth. This
can be the worst basis to start their grown-up life, and their
adult success among their peers.
Here
is a gem for daily strength, from Nehemiah 4:14 ,"Be ye
not afraid of them; remember the Lord which is great and
terrible, and fight for your bretheren your sons and your
daughters, your wives and your houses"
Why
and how do we fight, and what weapons to use in our
championship war:
1-It
is through the valiant Word of God.
2-It
is through ongoing intercessory prayer day and night.
3-We
press forward with God in the lead, from stage to stage,
banishing the devil’s lies as he tells them ,’’you are
useless; you are good for nothing.”
1
Samuel 12:23 "moreover, as for me, God forbid that I
should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you; but I
will teach you the good and the right way. Only fear the Lord
and serve him in truth with all your heart, for consider what
great things he hath done for you." Like
Samuel. We shall inspire the youth to fear God. With
prayer, we fight for them dispelling the fear and
helping them start their life in the victory of the cross.
Are
we conscious of the value of the soul in each created person?
Do we still know how Jesus paid once for all to buy us back
unto himself? Therefore...let us embrace
the young ones around us, inspire them to come for help in
times of need as we say with Jesus in Luke 12:32, "Fear
not little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to
give you the kingdom"
